Louisiana Highway 47

Louisiana Highway 47 (LA 47) is a state highway in Louisiana that serves Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes. It spans miles in a southeast to northwest direction, although it is designated as a south/north route. It is known locally as Paris Road and Hayne Boulevard.
==Route description==
From the south, LA 47 (Paris Road) begins at an intersection with LA 46 (St. Bernard Highway) in Chalmette just north of the Chalmette Ferry landing. Continuing north, the highway passes LA 39 (Judge Perez Drive) before heading across Bayou Bienvenue and into Orleans Parish/New Orleans East. Shortly thereafter, it crosses the Mississippi River – Gulf Outlet Canal via the Paris Road Bridge or the "Green" Bridge. At the opposite end of the bridge, Interstate 510 begins, eventually passing US 90. The two highways overlap until they meet Interstate 10, where I-510 terminates. From there, LA 47 continues northward to the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain. At that point, the highway turns west-southwesterly and becomes Hayne Boulevard. It runs along the shore of Lake Pontchartrain before ending at the intersection with Downman Road.
LA 47 is an undivided, five-lane roadway (with middle turning lane) from LA 46 to north of Chalmette. It then changes to a divided, four-lane until the south foot of the Paris Road Bridge where it becomes a controlled access highway as part of Interstate 510. Just north of Interstate 10 and the northern terminus of Interstate 510, LA 47 again becomes a divided, four-lane highway. Finally, it becomes an undivided, four-lane highway from the Paris Road/Hayne Boulevard intersection to its terminus at the Downman Road/Hayne Boulevard intersection.
